The Girl Scouts of Powder Springs (Wildhorse Creek Service Unit) are holding their annual recruiting event on Tuesday September 7th, 2010 at 7 pm.
If you have a girl in grades K-12 who is interested in joining scouts please come to this meeting. The "Round Up" will be held in the Ron Anderson Recreation Center at 3820 Macedonia Road next to Wildhorse Creek Park.
Wildhorse Creek serves girls based out of Hollydale, Compton, Varner, Powder Springs, and Dowell Elementary schools as well as Tapp Middle and McEachern High School. We also include a number of troops who meet in churches or public facilities in the Powder Springs area. We are part of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, and offer a rich program of scheduled events for the girls.
**********
In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.
**********
We are always looking for volunteers so that we can service all of the girls who want to join scouting. Please contact Wildhorsesu [at] Yahoo.com with questions.
